According to Aldous Huxley “Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness: it is generally the by-product of other activities.”
I think he has a point.
This got me thinking, how many different nouns could I substitute in the quote for “Happiness”?
1. Fun
2. Money
3. Love
4. Acceptance
5. Success
…
With a bit of time you could create quite a long list.
Perhaps pursuing profit, employee engagement or cost savings is not the wisest course of action.
Maybe they are the by-products of customer service, rewarding jobs or right first time delivery.
